How the date of Karwa Chauth is fixed

Why Karwa Chauth can differ by place and tradition

Moonrise here is the engine's time for a clear, flat horizon at New Delhi. It moves by several minutes from city to city, and the Moon is often seen later than that, once it clears buildings and haze.

Sunrise, sunset and moonrise change with the city, so the windows here move for other places. Astrojar's daily Panchang gives them for where you are.
