How BPHS describes Vrishchika
BPHS describes Vrishchika as slender, reddish-brown in colour, many-footed, strong by day, belonging to the north, and found in holes, water and land. The verse calls it sharp and passionate. (BPHS ch. 4 sl. 15-16½, its second part.)
In the body of time, Kalapurusha, Vrishchika is the private parts (sl. 4). These are qualities of the sign, used to read whatever falls in it; they are not a forecast for people born with the Moon there. When Vrishchika is the rising sign instead, see Vrishchika Lagna for its house lords.
Planets exalted and debilitated in Scorpio
No planet is exalted in Scorpio; the Moon is debilitated here. A planet is exalted in one sign and debilitated in the sign opposite (BPHS ch. 3).
