In short

The Moon changes sign about every two and a quarter days. Its transit is read from your birth Moon sign (Chandra bala: the 1st, 3rd, 6th, 7th, 10th and 11th are good, the 8th is Chandrashtama) and from your birth nakshatra (Tara bala). Astrojar's free Planner shows both for each day.

How the Moon's transit is read

The Moon moves through a sign in about two and a quarter days and through a nakshatra in about a day, so its transit is read day by day. Astrojar's Planner reads it in two ways for your own chart:

Chandra bala: the day's Moon sign counted from your birth Moon sign. The 1st, 3rd, 6th, 7th, 10th and 11th are good; the 8th is Chandrashtama, a day to go slow.

Tara bala: the day's nakshatra counted from your birth nakshatra, in groups of nine (Janma, Sampat, Vipat, Kshema, Pratyak, Sadhana, Naidhana, Mitra, Param Mitra). The 3rd, 5th and 7th (Vipat, Pratyak, Naidhana) are avoided.
