Questions about Jupiter's transit
When does Jupiter change sign in 2026?
Jupiter is in Karka (Cancer) on 18 Oct 2026 and enters Simha (Leo) on 31 Oct 2026, between noon and 1 pm IST. The table lists every change to the end of 2028.
How long does Jupiter stay in one sign?
About a year on average (its round of the zodiac takes about 12 years), but a retrograde can take it back into the previous sign for a few months, as in 2027 and 2028.
Which Moon signs benefit from Jupiter's transit?
Those for which Jupiter is in the 2nd, 5th, 7th, 9th or 11th sign, by Phaladeepika ch. 26. The Moon sign table on this page shows it for each sign Jupiter visits from 2026 to 2028.
Is this the same as Western astrology's Jupiter transit?
No. Astrojar uses the sidereal zodiac (Lahiri ayanamsa), about 24° behind the tropical zodiac of Western astrology, so the sign-change dates differ. Retrograde dates are the same in both.
