When Astrojar suggests Brihaspati's remedies

Astrojar suggests Brihaspati's remedies in two cases. To strengthen Jupiter when it matters for your question and is good for your Lagna (Mesha, Karka, Simha, Vrishchika, Dhanu and Meena). To pacify it when Jupiter's dasha is running and it is not good for your Lagna and is weak (debilitated, combust, or in the 6th, 8th or 12th house), or when Jupiter is behind an uncancelled dosha in your chart. Pacifying uses the mantra, charity, worship and the temple, never the gemstone.

Jupiter's gemstone

Yellow Sapphire (Pukhraj) strengthens Jupiter, so Astrojar suggests it only when Jupiter is good for your Lagna: by BPHS ch. 34, for Mesha (Aries), Karka (Cancer), Simha (Leo), Vrishchika (Scorpio), Dhanu (Sagittarius) and Meena (Pisces) Lagnas. BPHS calls Jupiter malefic for Vrishabha (Taurus), Mithuna (Gemini), Kanya (Virgo), Tula (Libra), Makara (Capricorn) and Kumbha (Aquarius) Lagnas; there the stone is not for you. Even where it is allowed, only after an astrologer checks your full chart, and after a short trial period. The substitute stone is yellow topaz or citrine.

How to chant the Brihaspati mantra

Chant the mantra 108 times on a mala, ideally on Thursdays. The full japa of 19,000 is the count traditionally completed for Jupiter, often over many days or by a priest. The Guru Yantra is kept in the prayer place and worshipped on Thursdays. Astrojar's app has a mantra counter for your own chart's mantra.

Remedies support effort; they do not replace it, and no remedy is promised to change an outcome.
