How astrology reads children from a birth chart: the 5th house, Jupiter and the D7; what Astrojar answers, and what it never predicts.

How children are read in a birth chart
The 5th house is the house of children, with the 9th and the 11th; Jupiter is the karaka. Astrojar also reads the D7 (saptamsha): its 5th lord, the planets in its 5th and its Lagna lord.
In KP a child comes when the significators of 2, 5 and 11 run, and 1, 4, 10 and 12 work against it (KP Reader III, p. 424).

What Astrojar will and will not say

How sure are the dates?
When you ask "when", the dates come from your Vimshottari dasha: Astrojar scores each Pratyantardasha (the third level of periods, a few months each) for the houses and karakas of the matter, and adds weight when Jupiter and Saturn both transit the main house or its lord (the double transit). Runs of good sub-periods become windows of 6 to 18 months.
Astrojar tests its dates on public figures with recorded birth times, split into two halves so a result has to hold twice. Asked about events still ahead, the dasha windows did no better than chance on that set, so a date for the future is the traditional reading, not a measured forecast. Dates also hold best when the birth time is exact: a few minutes move a sub-period by weeks.
